"We Be Cruisin"

I just finished a new painting for my friend Jennifer as a Christmas gift. She is one of the people I miss the most from San Diego.

We like to joke about being old grannies together, bitching about the slut neighbor with our long red press on nails and a house full of cats. I keep trying to convince her to move out here, but I’m sure that will never happen. People don’t tend to jump at the idea of moving to Mormonville Salt Lake City enthusiastically. More like the way you drag yourself to get a tooth pulled. Or the gynecologist.

She is really colorful and more daring so I wanted to try something different. The picture is actually her riding a tricycle while ridiculously sloshed.

It’s titled “We Be Cruisin.” Clever aren’t’ I?

I love it.

The Rasterbator

I just found this totally awesome application called The Rasterbator. I know it sounds like some bad thought up porn product, but it is actually totally amazing. The Rasterbator creates huge rasterized (dotted) images from any picture using several sheets of regular-sized paper to turn into giant posters.

Choose your image, crop and resize if necessary, and the Rasterbator will create a multi-page PDF file. Try the Rasterbator online or download a copy of the software. It’s totally free and you can change the size of the dots and how many sheets of paper you want to use.

I can’t wait to use this on some paintings. I have already started playing around with different ideas.
